The Taos Team has extensive experience in Photovoltaics and all live with Solar in their homes. Known as the “B Team” of Positive Energy for our tremendous background in Battery based systems, either off grid or as net meter systems with battery backup, we travel much of the state of NM to take on these more challenging designs. The Taos office primarily handles all design and installations for projects in and north of Espanola to the Colorado border, including Los Alamos, White Rock, Las Vegas, Questa and of course Taos.

Andy O’Reilly; NABCEP Certified Installer, NM and CA Residential and NM Commercial Licensed Electrician
Andy has a Bachelor’s from U of Colorado, Boulder and has been with Positive Energy Taos since 2007 after working as a PV Installer in California and a Scientific Researcher at the University of Colorado Mountain Research Station. Andy has lived in two off grid homes and his new home in Taos will soon have a net metering PV system.
Russ Mueller; NM Residential Journeyman Electrician
Russ has been has been living off grid since 2000 and started doing solar professionally in 2004. Currently Russ focuses on the Balance of PV systems layout and installation. Russ enjoys creating and recording his own music and plays in a band.
Mark Myers; Solar Technician
Mark Myers holds an Associates Degree in Renewable Energy from San Juan College and has over 5 years experience in photovoltaic system design and installation here in New Mexico. He came to Positive Energy with extensive carpentry and remodeling experience. He and his wife live off-grid, near Taos, in their own self-built adobe home with a solar electric system that Mark designed and installed.
Karlis Viceps; LEED Accredited Professional, past President of NM Solar Energy Assoc. (1996-1999)
Karlis has extensive experience in solar and green building design and consulting with his own firm since 1985. He and his wife built their very self sufficient passive solar home nearly 30 years ago that still uses the same PV system with battery replacements every 10 years. Karlis joined Positive Energy in 2010 as a solar consultant, solar site assessments, sales and assist with office management.
