Solar-Ready Guidelines For Your New Home

If you are building a home, we suggest you contact us to learn about what steps to take to get your home ready for solar power. Preparing your new home for solar during the construction phase is a simple but very exacting process, involving running wires and conduit inside of the walls to allow for a clean final installation. The details of the wiring and conduit needed are specific to your application, due to different requirements of the National Electrical Code, local inspectors, and local utilities.

The other primary consideration when building a new home is to leave sufficient roof space with good southern exposure. The locations of air conditioning units, skylights, and vents can have significant impacts on the available space for the PV array. Please contact us for help with these preparations, ideally during the design phase of your project.
