Positive Energy Impact Report 2024

Project of the Year: Dine College Diné College, located in Tsaile, Arizona, serves the Navajo Nation by offering programs dedicated to advancing the economic, political, environmental, and social development of the Navajo people. As the first tribally controlled and accredited collegiate institution in the U.S., the college embodies a profound commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship, values deeply rooted in Navajo culture. Positive Energy Solar was honored to collaborate with Diné College and Yearout Energy on a transformative project that underscored this commitment. We constructed a 1.002 MW Single Tracker Solar Energy System that significantly enhances the college’s sustainability initiatives. This state-of-the-art system is more than just a clean energy source; it is a testament to the college’s leadership in environmental responsibility and its vision for a sustainable future. The impact of this project is profound. Over the next 25 years, the system will reduce Diné College’s CO2 emissions by an estimated 69,874,121 pounds. To put this into perspective, this reduction is equivalent to: Planting 8,663 acres of trees Removing 6,092 vehicles from the road 29,114,217 pounds of coal not burned This solar energy project is a tangible expression of Positive Energy Solar’s mission to empower communities with renewable energy solutions while contributing to a healthier planet. We are proud to support Diné College's efforts to lead the way in sustainable energy practices, ensuring a lasting positive impact on the Navajo Nation and beyond.
