Hyde Memorial State Park – Microgrid – Copy
Project Overview
Hyde Memorial State Park is an off-grid system that has PV, Batteries, and a Propane Generator. The property was originally provided power by the local utility, but due to damage of the power line over time, the replacement cost was estimated at $10 million. The decision was made to look at an alternative source of power supply.
The final design included 200 LG 400 Watt solar modules, 22 Blue Planet 16 kWh lithium ion batteries, 10 Outback Radian inverters, 20 Schneider charge controllers, and a 180 kva propane generator.
The PV array was oriented south with a 45 Degree tilt to focus on winter production and encourage snow shed from the panels. A new building was built to house the batteries, inverters, charge controllers and system monitoring and controls.
