City of Santa Fe / YEAROUT – Buckman Direct Booster
Project Overview
Buckman Direct Diversion (BDD) Water infrastructure is necessary to provide a reliable water source to the City of Santa Fe from the Rio Grande. The City of Santa Fe aimed to reduce water pumping costs, enhance sustainability with renewable energy, and increase operational flexibility. By implementing solar energy at key pumping facilities along with their water pipelines, they can now pump water on demand during the day, rather than only at night, which was previously necessary due to higher costs from PNM during peak hours. This shift has improved water efficiency and reliability for the city’s water infrastructure.
Project sites include: BDD Lift Station, BDD 2A, BDD 1 & 1A Station, BDD Station 3, BDD D & Well 10, BDD Station 4
