Santa Fe Community College
Project Overview
Santa Fe Community College’s (SFCC) commitment to renewable energy continues with the implementation of a 1.5 MW solar system, designed to produce 44% of the college’s energy needs.
The array will save the college more than $200,000/year and provides a net financial benefit of more than $1 Million. The fixed cost of the solar electricity for SFCC will be $0.595 cents per kWh. In addition, the new system will save 15 Million gallons of water and 26,000 tons of carbon dioxide over the span of 25 years by avoiding the use of electricity generated by steam power turbines at coal plants.
